Seeing You Seeing Me – Photographic Exhibition and Trail Celebrating the Shropshire SEND Community – October Half Term.

02/10/2024

This ground breaking photographic exhibition and trail shares photographs selected from over 650 photographs taken during PACC’s Healthy Lives Programme.  They tell a story of how young people with SEND want to be seen and heard.  The images and words show the importance of young people with SEND having access to activities in the community, enabling them to build confidence and friendships that are essential in securing a good quality of life.

The Photographic Exhibition is being held in St Mary’s Church in Shrewsbury Town Centre, Monday 28th Oct – Friday 1st Nov, 10am – 4pm (10 – 1pm on Friday). See project leaflet  It is free to enter and PACC will be offering a range of activities alongside the exhibition, including crafts, board games, singing and storytelling.  Some of these activities do require booking.

There will also be a pop-up café at the Church offering drinks and cakes.  There will be no charge for refreshments or activities but donations to the Save The Hive campaign will be welcomed.

The Photographic Trail is around Shrewsbury Town Centre and will be available from Saturday 26th October to Friday 1st Nov.  You can pick up a trail map from St Mary’s Church and the Library or access a digital copy here

We want to thank all the parent carers, brothers and sisters and young people with SEND who have allowed us to share these photographs. We also want to thank St Mary’s Church and Shrewsbury businesses who have welcomed the project and our funders, Shropshire Council, Shropshire & Telford Integrated Care Board and the Inclusive Communities Fund which enabled it to happen.  Finally, our thanks go to Ming de Nasty and Eliot Thomas for capturing such valuable images of the SEND Community and curating the project.
