Coproduction Week 2020

06/07/2020

Coproduction week is an opportunity to celebrate the success of coproduction and promote the benefits of coproducing on both individual and strategic levels. We feel there is still a long journey ahead of us in terms of embedding true and effective coproduction across all of the key strategic partners in Shropshire as well as within settings and provision. However, we are confident the commitment made by the Local Authority and Clinical Commissioning Group representatives demonstrates their understanding of the need to embed coproduction and to develop sustainable practices that embody putting the voices of familles at the heart of SEND services now and in the future. Coproduction week has provided an ideal opportuinity to capture these commitments in a range of ways. PACC, LA, and CCG representatives have all contributed video messages to reiterate these commitments alongside the recent Written Statement of Action Summary of Intent being signed by all three key strategic partner organisations.

Over the course of the week our social media channels, facebook and twitter, will have promoted a variety of information about coproduction. This has included video messages, infographics, and links to key coproduction pieces we wanted to highlight. We have collated all of this here in one place to make it easy for you to see how we have used coproduction week to highlight some of the key commitments, discussions, and reflections we feel represent what coprodujction means to us here in Shropshire.

Sarah Thomas, PACC Participation Coordinator, explains the value of coproduction to the parent carer community.

Claire Parker, Director of Partnerships at Shrolpshire, Telford & Wrekin Clinical Commissioning Group, explains the role coproduction plays in her work.

Shropshire Councils Director of Children's Services, Karen Bradshaw, and SEND Service Manager, Julia Dean, tell us what coproduction means to them.

Zara Bowden, PACC Chair, shares the value of individual coproduction during transition between primary and secondary school for her family.

Helen Jackson-Burton, Parent Carer, tells us about coproduction in her life.
